Skin is the largest organ of the body and the first layer of defence which should be protected from the damaging environment and other factors. Fortunately, you can protect the skin from external environmental forces yet it is impossible to prevent the damage from carelessness or lack of knowledge. One should know about the skin care essentials and their daily application to avoid skin damage. If you are one of those who doesn’t know much about skin care and its routine. Congratulations! You have landed on the right page. Here in this blog, we will tell you about all the mandatory skin care products so that you do not experience early signs of ageing, dark spots, acne, sunburn and worst, skin cancer.

Before following the list of essential products for skin care, you must know your skin type. Generally, there are three types of skin. Namely, oily skin, sensitive skin, and dry skin.

Type Of Skin

If you have oily skin, you must have a greasy appearance, large skin pores, clog pores and blackheads. Moreover, your skin may have a thick yet rough skin texture.

Sensitive skin may have red patches, itching or burning without a visible rash, and if you have a visible rash it can be too burning or itching. At the same time, sunburns are quite often in case of sensitive skin. Yet the dry skin feels tight and looks rough. Pruritus is quite common in the case of dry skin. Moreover, one can experience slight to severe peeling or scaling, and fine lines or cracks are usual too.

List Of Skin Care Essential Products

Here in this section, you will find the important products that are required to protect your skin from external forces.

1) Face Wash

Your face skin is more sensitive than other body areas so the normal soap could be harsh on your face. Thus, it is recommended to use face wash on your face as they contain suitable pH levels for your facial skin.

People who do not wash their faces with face wash at least twice a day (morning & evening) are prone to get acne and blackheads which are the drivers of skin ageing signs. Also, one should use face wash which is suitable for your skin. Otherwise, their side effects could be drastic (including skin burn or rashes).

Face Wash

2) Moisturiser

Like soaps do to the skin; many face washes leaves your face a little dry, which is then compensated with the moisturiser.

Moisturiser is essential for the entire skin. To keep it hydrated, moisturise and soft. For better results, you should apply moisturiser to damp skin. Also, buy according to your skin type and the one that lasts longer on the skin. Otherwise, you will have to keep moisturising your skin every two hours which may feel like a duty.

3) Toner

Although everyone should use a toner after a face wash. Yet, if you have sensitive skin, you must not avoid applying it.

Toner soothes and calms your skin. Also, its ingredients can restore & replenish skin nutrients. Most importantly, it is too good to reduce dry patches and redness. They are used after face wash but before serum or moisturiser.

You can apply toner to your face, neck and chest.

4) Cleanser

Many people get confused between face wash and cleanser. They think they are the same. However, they are completely different. While face wash is used to remove the daily dust and dirt from your face. Cleansing help purify and soothe your skin. Moreover, it gives a creamier texture to your face and cleanses your pores more quickly.

Rather you can use them instead of face wash. But, face wash can not be used in the place of a cleanser.

Make sure you do not scrub the cleanser too hard. Furthermore, rinse it well with lukewarm water as hot water could dry your skin.

5) Sunscreen

As the name suggests, most of us know that sunscreens are used to protect our skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays.

No matter whether it is summer or winter, sun rays are harmful to your skin in every season. Yet the SPF requirement may differ. In summers you will require sunscreen of more than 30 SPF. Whereas in winter, you can have a little less SPF sunscreen too.

We have seen people avoiding sunscreen lotions but we still recommend their application as the consequences could be irreplaceable. For instance, sunburn, tanning, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, ageing signs.

6) Exfoliation

It is the process of dead skin cells removal from the outer layer of the skin. You do not need to apply it daily, use it just once or twice a week. Apply it right after cleanser (before moisturiser).

It has proven dead skin cell removal results. Moreover, dermatologists recommend skin exfoliation rather than other scrubs to prevent skin from chemical damage.

The Bottom Line

If you notice, skincare essentials are too generic products that you can easily use every day. You just need 5-7 mins twice a day to keep your skin rejuvenated. We believe it is the least time one can give to protect the largest organ and the first layer of the body. Tell us in the comment section which products you use or are willing to use for your skin.
