How To Heal Cracked Heels With Home Remedies?

1) Foot Mask

This homemade foot mask will moisturise & hydrate your ankles. Also, it will kill the foot pain to heal cracked heels.

Material Required:

  • Glycerine 2tsp
  • Lemon ½ cup
  • Rose water 2tsp
  • Rock salt 1tsp
  • Pumice stone 1
  • A tub of warm water

How To Make & Use?

  • Take a tub full of warm water and drop 1/4th cup of lemon juice, 1tsp rose water, glycerine and rock salt.
  • Dilute the mixture well
  • Keep your feet in the mixture for 15 minutes
  • After 15 minutes, remove them from the warm water and clean them with a pumice stone
  • Wash your feet with cold water
  • In a bowl, add glycerine, lemon juice and water
  • Mix them well and apply on the feet like a mask
  • Let it dry overnight and wash it in the morning

2) Vegetable Oil

It is one of the easiest and least time-consuming ways to heal cracked heels. Vegetable oil has the nutrients to soften and moisturise the cracked heels. Also, it will nourish your skin.

How To Make & Use?

  • Soak your feet in the warm water for 10-20 minutes
  • Post that, clean feet with a pumice stone
  • Apply vegetable oil and let it nourish your skin overnight. Do not forget to cover it socks
  • Wash it off the next morning

3) Paraffin Wax

It is a natural moisturiser that nourishes your skin and works well on cracked heels and makes it softer.

Also, it enhances your skin’s smoothness even after the treatment. It opens pores and removes dead skin cells. 


  • Parrafin wax: 1tsp
  • Coconut oil/mustard oil: 2-3 drops

How To Make & Use?

  • Melt paraffin wax and add coconut oil/mustard oil to it
  • Wash your feet and dry them with a cotton cloth
  • Check for lukewarm wax, and apply it on the heels
  • Cover it with socks or a towel overnight 
  • Wash with lukewarm water in the morning

4) Banana Feet Mask

Another easiest and cheapest feet mask to heal cracked heels is the banana feet mask. It is quite easy to make and apply and should be applied every day to have soft and smooth heels.

How To Make & Use?

  • Take a ripe banana & mash it well
  • Apply it on your feel
  • Let it settle for about 15 minutes and then wash it with lukewarm water
  • After 5 minutes of washing with lukewarm water. Wash it with cold water.

Apply this mask every day, if you want better results.

5) Rice Flour Feet Mask

Although we call it rice flour feet mask, but it contains other ingredients too. The final product makes your skin nourished, soft and removes deal skins cells as well.


  • 2-3 tsp rice flour
  • Olive oil (few drops)
  • 3-4 apple cider vinegar 
  • 1 tsp honey

How To Make & Use?

  • Take rice flour and mix all other ingredients properly
  • Keep your feet in a tub filled with warm water for 10-15 minutes
  • Rub the scrub gently on the cracked heels and other areas of the feet
  • Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water

6) Neem Leaves

Your heels could be cracked due to fungal or any other infections. Neem has the potential to heal the cracked heels by fetching out the infection. Also, its application makes it softer.

How To Make & Use?

  • Take 5-7 leaves and make a paste of it
  • Add turmeric to the paste and apply it to the heels (Leave it 20 minutes)
  • Wash your feet with lukewarm water and wipe them with a dry cotton cloth.

7) Epsom Salt

This salt has natural components that improve the blood circulation in the feet that prevents cracked heels. Also, its application softens and moisturises your feet.


  • A tub of warm water
  • ½ cup Epsom salt

How To Make & Use?

  • Mix Epsom salt in a tub filled with warm water
  • Soak your feet in a tub for about 15 minutes
  • Remove feet from the tub and rub them with a pumice stone
  • Keep your feet in the tub again for 10 minutes
  • This time, wash off your feet with cool water and apply moisturiser.

Cracked heels could be treated with the above home remedies for cracked heels. Since all remedies are home-based, they will have no side effects but they will take their time to heal cracked heels and the time could vary from skin to skin.
